About Us

A Letter From The Board:

Dear Philadelphia BTA Members and Prospective Members,

It is with extreme excitement, strong passion and deep humility that we, the new Philadelphia Business Travel Association Board, start our two year term serving you, the chapter.  The chapter has been led over the past two years by Nancy and her team with such professionalism and success.  We certainly want to keep the momentum moving forward and grow even stronger.

The three aspects that we would like to communicate in our welcome letter are:

1) 2015 Dates for our Chapter meetings and other events
2) A change in the membership dues structure for all new members and renewal memberships
3) An overview of our plans for the next two years

However, if you attend our next chapter meeting on March 25th you will definitely hear a lot more detail around these things.

2014 Chapter Meetings and Save the Date(s):  We will hold four chapter meetings in 2015, continuing on with the format from this past year:  Networking, Lunch, Board Updates, Great Speakers.  The meetings will start with registration opening at 11:30 am and we will conclude no later than 2:00pm.

Chapter Meeting Dates

  1. March 25th
  2. May 7th
  3. September 16th
  4. November 18th

Save-the-Dates

  1. May 2nd - Ronald McDonald House: Plane Pull
  2. TBD – Philabundance
  3. May TBD – Education Day/Networking Event
  4. TBD (Summer) – Ronald McDonald House Guest Chef

Change in Membership Dues:
Membership dues will increase from $125 to $180 per year. However all Chapter meetings will be free to members ($75 for nonmembers). In the past members were charged $35 for chapter meetings and nonmembers were charged $75. Therefore, if you attend two or more chapter meetings a year as a member, you will save money. The membership dues increases will go into effect on April 1st. For anyone who renews or joins prior to this date, they will pay the $125 fee and their chapter meetings until they renew will be free.

NOTE: Any members who register for a chapter meeting and do not show will be charged a $25 fee. Any members not registered for a meeting, but show up at the event will be charged a $25 fee for admission.   The bottom line is that we, the new board, want your membership to include free chapter meetings, but need your cooperation in helping us plan ahead for the amount of people who will be at any given meeting.

Final note on Membership… Allied members will be given the opportunity to sponsor up to 10 Direct Memberships. As an allied member, you will be able to select direct members to be a part of your “membership team” and pay for their membership. As this grows and the chapter grows, we will be able to have a lot of fun with team competitions, team incentives and team dynamics. Allied members may bring a direct prospective member to a meeting and will be charged $50. If that direct member joins the chapter or you the allied member elects to sponsor their membership, $25 will go towards their membership cost. More to come on this at our meeting on March 25th.
